New Testament Scholar N.T. Wright calls the Acts of the Apostles, “The Deeds and Teachings of King Jesus, Part II” (Acts for Everyone, Part 1). This summer we will be on an adventure with those first “sent ones” (apostles) into a world that doesn’t know or follow this King Jesus. Hear their faith and witness. See Christ’s ongoing presence. Experience the Holy Spirit call to bold action, as we make connections to our own lives of faith today.
This week we talk with Molly Beck Dean who is the Director of the ELCA National Youth Gathering. A tri-annual gathering of over 30,000 youth and adults. In 2018 the gathering will take place in Houston, Tx.
Molly has a vast experience working with youth of the church and is the perfect person to lead this charge. We had an amazing conversation with Molly and we hope you enjoy it!
Pastor Geoff and Pastor Joe reflect upon their conversation with author Laura Everett. They talk about slowing down and seeing the world around us. They also talk about being a front porch church vs a back deck church. Enjoy the latest episode of the 2 Bald Pastors.
How are we faithful? There are so many ways to be faithful in our lives and in our faith. Pastor Joe and Pastor Geoff reflect on their conversation with Andrew and Nate from Young Adult in Global Mission.
The big game is coming up and we want you to support it! We have partnered with ELCA World Hunger to raise money for those in need. We would love for you to support the New England Patriots but any support would be amazing. See the video below from Bishop Jim Hazlewood.
In this episode Pastor Geoff and Pastor Joe followup from last week’s conversation with Angel Marrero. They also discuss the quote from Pastor Tim Krick
I want to be someone who stops bad things from happening in the world. But I want to be more than that, heroes stop bad things from happening prophets are people who call out systems that allow those horrific things to continually happen. What I want to be is someone who stops the obvious things from happening in the first place because the hard work was done to stop that kind of culture to profolate.
Last week Geoff and Joe talked with Author Brian Scott about his book That Day Great and Terrible. This is a book that is influenced by the Bible, specifically the book of Revelation. This week we talk about the Bible, we ask one another how they read the Bible and what are some of our favorite Bible verses. We hope that this episode inspires you to pick up your Bible, to read it some more and to grow in your relationship with God.

Some Resources Mentioned on the Show
Quote by Martin Luther “These are the Scriptures which make fools of all the wise and understanding, and are open only to the small and simple, as Christ says in Matthew 11:25. Therefore dismiss your own opinions and feelings, and think of the scriptures as the loftiest and noblest of holy things, as the richest of mines which can never be sufficiently explored, in order that you may find divine wisdom which God here lays before you in such simple guise as to quench all pride. Here you will find the swaddling clothes and the manger in which Christ lies. — Luther, Luther’s Works, vol. 35: Prefaces to the Old Testament, 236.
